Buckhorn downs Madison Southern 53-44

On Saturday, the Buckhorn Wildcats played their third game in the Peoples’ Bank Classic at Madison Southern. The Wildcats lost their first two games, 76-52 to South Laurel, and then 74-60 to East Jessamine.

Buckhorn got off to a good start in the game, and posted a 12-9 lead at the end of the first period. The momentum remained with the Wildcats in the second period, pushing them to the 24-16 halftime advantage.

Play continued to be close in the third period, with Buckhorn tacking on another point to their margin (35-26). Both teams had their best offensive output in the final period, with neither gaining an advantage. Buckhorn was able to hold on for the 53-44 win.
