The Hazard Bulldogs spent the latter part of the Christmas break playing in a tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Bulldogs finished the tournament with a 4-1 record.


Hazard started the tournament with a home team, the Las Vegas Wildcats. The Bulldogs jumped out to a big lead, and rode the momentum to the win.


The Bulldogs ended the first period with the 29-15 lead and slowed a little in the second period, but managed to add to their margin. Going into the break, they held the 46-27 advantage.


Hazard stymied Las Vegas in the second period, allowing them but four points. The Bulldogs took advantage of the situation, and went up 63-31 going into the final period.


The game ended quietly, with Hazard collecting the 80-41 win.

In their second game, the Bulldogs took on Eldorado. Hazard jumped out to an early lead, but could not hold on as their opponent clawed their way back into the game and took the victory in overtime.


The Bulldogs took the 21-17 lead in the first quarter, and managed to add to their margin in the second period. Hazard went into the locker room with the 37-31 advantage.


Eldorado cut away most of the Bulldog lead in the third period, leaving Hazard a one-point lead (47-46) going into the final frame. Hazard gave away the point in the fourth quarter, forcing the overtime. Eldorado won the battle in the extra frame, taking the 67-60 win.

In game three, Hazard took on Cypress. The game was not as fast paced as the preceding two, but offered plenty of action.


Hazard won the battle of the first period, and took the 14-8 lead. Cypress came out strong in the second period and turned the tables. However, it would not be enough to keep the Bulldogs from taking the 23-19 lead into the break.


The Bulldogs began a slow pull away in the second half. At the end of the third period, Hazard was up 35-30, and finished the game with the 46-37 win.

Game four saw Hazard take on Woodbridge. The Bulldogs were able to pick up the pace, and outlasted their opponents for the win.


Hazard came out firing and took the early lead. The Bulldogs led 19-14 at the end of the first period, and went into the locker room with the 29-24 advantage.


Both teams were able to pick up the pace in the third period, and at the horn the Bulldogs led 47-40. Hazard was able to stop Woodbridge from putting together a rally in the fourth quarter, and went on to win 61-50.

Woodbridge (50) Scarlett 21, Bangs 13, Ho 10, Brown 2, Kim 2 and Tamara 2.


In their final game, Hazard took on Corona Del Mar. The Bulldogs proved to be too much for their opponent as they cruised to the easy 70-52 win.


The Bulldogs came close to doubling up on Corona in the first period as they finished with the 19-10 lead. The second period proved to be a little closer, but Hazard was able to go into the locker room with the 31-18 advantage.


Hazard had another big frame in the third, and went into the final stanza with a 53-31 lead. Corona Del Mar outscored Hazard in the final period, but the Bulldogs came away with the win (70-52), giving them the 4-1 record in the tournament.
