The Perry County Central Commodores participated in the Toyota Classic in Georgetown over the past weekend. The Commodores opened tournament play with the Lafayette Generals.

The Commodores opened the game well, and jumped out to the 24-18 lead in the first quarter. Perry Central continued to roll in the second period, and finished the half with a 44-34 advantage.

The Commodores went ice cold in the third period and gave back their entire lead. The two teams went into the final period tied at 55.

The lead went back and forth throughout the final frame, with the Generals pulling away at the end for the 74-70 win. Justin Johnson and Dalton Cornett both finished the game with a double-double. Johnson had seven dunks in the contest.

Perry Central (70) Braxton Beverly 12 (9 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal), Travis Stacy 7 (2 assists and 1 steal), Justin Johnson 30 (1 block and 13 rebounds), Dalton Cornett 19 (3 assists, 3 blocks, 12 rebounds and 2 steals), Darryl Beatty 2 (6 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal), Austin Pray (2 assists and 1 rebound), Austin Hill (1 rebound) and Tyler Fugate (1 steal).
