Jerry A. Watts, 52, of Slemp, died Saturday, Jan. 26.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1960 in Slemp, the son of Ruby Cornett Watts and the late John Watts. He was the husband of Deborah Coots Watts. By occupation he was a self-employed welder for T&T Energy.
He was a lifelong resident of Prry County and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ginsenging and shooting as hobbies.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Watts.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby Cornett Watts of Slemp; wife Deborah Coots Watts of Slemp; daughter Amanda Lynnette Watts of Slemp; brother Nick Watts and wife Sharon of Mt. Sterling; sister Diana Lynn Watts Kaliz and husband Richard of Copperopolis, Ca.; brother-in-law Jack Coots and wife Carolyn of Slemp; and a host of treasured nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Big Leatherwood Old Regular Baptist Church in Cornettsville with Rev. Danny Dixon, Rev. Scott Halcomb and Rev. Squire Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the Joe Cornett Cemetery in Slemp. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday until time of funeral service at the church.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Tony Hamilton, Michael Brewer, Rod Couch, J.T. Elsea, Nick Watts, Rick Kaliz, Nicholas Watts, Derek Coots, Jack Coots and Mike Cornett.
