Mustangs move into semis over Viper

The final spot in the 8th grade semifinals was to be decided by the R. W. Combs Mustang and Viper Hornet game. The Mustangs rolled up a big lead early and coasted to the 49-15 win.

R. W. Combs could do no wrong in the first period, putting up points at a staggering rate while holding Viper scoreless. By the midway point, the Mustangs had already posted a double-digit lead, and finished the frame with a 24-0 lead.

The Mustangs went to their bench in the second period, allowing the Hornets to light their side of the scoreboard. Viper was unable to cut any points off their deficit and went into the locker room trailing R. W. Combs 33-8.

The Mustangs came out of the locker room and quickly put the clock in motion. From that point, R. W. Combs went back to their bench. The period ended with the Mustangs leading 43-13. The game ended quietly, with R. W. Combs moving into the semifinals with the 49-15 win.
