Lady Dores roll into championship game

The Perry County Central Lady Commodores took on the Buckhorn Lady Wildcats in the second game of the district tournament. The game was very tight in the opening frame, but the Lady Commodores were then able to pull away for the big win.

The game went back and forth throughout the first period as the Lady Wildcats were able to match the Lady Commodores basket for basket. At the horn, Perry Central held the scant 20-17 lead.

Perry Central’s pressure began to take its toll in the second period as Buckhorn began to commit turnovers in the back court. The Lady Commodores were also able to pick up the pace on offense, and went into the locker room with the 44-23 advantage.

In the third quarter, the Lady Wildcats again struggled with the Lady Commodores’ pressure. Buckhorn would only muster a single field goal in the frame as Perry Central began to pull away. Going into the final period, the Lady Commodores were on top 62-25.

With the clock in motion, the fourth period came to a quick end. Perry Central was able to move into the championship game with the 67-30 win.
