The Knott Central Patriots and Estill County Engineers advanced in the second round of the boys’ 14th Region tournament on Tuesday.

Knott Central, champions of the 53rd District, easily defeated Leslie County, runners-up of the 54th District, 71-37. In Tuesday’s second game, 56th District champions Estill County won over Wolfe County, runners-up of the 55th District, by a margin of 52-42.

The regional semi-finals will be played at Letcher Central High School in Whitesburg on Friday, with the first game between Perry Central (25-7) and Cordia (19-9) tipping off at 6:30 p.m. Knott Central (27-5) will take on Estill County (15-16) in the nightcap.
