Elmer Dink Godsey, 79, died Friday, May 10 at his residence in Hazard.
He was a retired foreman for Asplundh and son of the late Davie Godsey and the late Florence Combs Godsey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Jane Neace Godsey, daughter Louise Godsey Ritchie, and granddaughter Miranda Travis Young.
He is survived by daughters Anita Ritchie and husband Chester, Wanda G. Howard, and Linda Faye Combs and husband Jeffrey; son Larry Godsey and wife Carla; beloved life partner Eula Mae Combs; step-daughter Wilma Lee Gross and husband Bud; sisters Florence Jones and husband Kelsey, Mollie Holcomb, and Alice G. Ritchie and husband Haskell; brother James Howard Godsey and wife Phronia; along with 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the services were held on Sunday, May 12 with Rev. Dean Demaris officiating. Interment was at the Polly-Noble Cemetery in Watts, Ky.
