CHAVIES — A boil water advisory was issued this week for water customers living in Perry County has been lifted.

Hazard City Manager Carlos Combs issued the advisory Monday morning, which noted a main waterline break resulted in the potential for bacterial contamination in the affected area. According to the advisory, an estimated 30 customers were included on Haddock Fork Road, just off of Highway 28 near the Chavies community.

The advisory was listed Thursday after an analysis of water samples taken from the area show the water is now safe for consumption.
