He was the son of the late Robert Lewis and the late Bessie Everidge. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lewis; brothers David Lewis and Johnny Salyers, and stepfather Nick Everidge.
He is survived by daughter Bessie Mullins, Ronnie Gayle Salyers, Portia Patrick, and Veronica Lynn Lewis; sisters Portia G. Hall and Wanda Collins; brothers Dana Lewis and Ricky Lewis; four grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. The family received friends at the home of Portia Patrick on Friday, June 5. The funeral service was at her home on Saturday, June 6 with Rev. Eddie Hurley, Rev. Willard Akers, and Rev. Roger Bentley officiating. Burial was at Archer Family Cemetery located at Hazard.
