Hazard-Perry falls in defensive struggle

In the their second game of the 9-10 year-old all-star tournament, Hazard-Perry took on Tri-Cities. The game was tight throughout, with Hazard-Perry giving up the winning runs in the final frame.

Neither team was able to light up the scoreboard early in the game. Tri-Cities eventually got things rolling in the third inning when they scored twice. The score would remain 2-0 until the final inning.

Tri-Cities picked up three insurance runs in the sixth inning, giving them the 5-0 lead as Hazard-Perry stepped to the plate. With two outs, Skylar Pelfrey got a rally started with a single. Devin Morris followed with a triple, giving Hazard-Perry their first run. Morris would then score on a Cameron Johnson single (5-2). Unfortunately, the rally ended at that point, and Tri-Cities collected the 5-2 win, sending Hazard-Perry to the loser’s bracket for the remainder of the tournament.
