He was the son of Virgil Ritchie and Lula M. Jones Ritchie.
He is also survived by his wife, Anna Jean Ritchie; daughters Jamie Melton, Lula Pugh, Kimberly Lewis, and Allison Ritchie; sisters Vina Mae Sizemore, Brenda Noble, Rachel Jones, Loretta Ronk, and Karen Baker; brothers Shelby Ritchie and Billy Ritchie, and six grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. The visitation was held at the Fort Branch Church of God on Friday, August 14. The funeral was at the church on Saturday, August 15 with Freddie Coots and Dean Melton officiating. Interment was at Ritchie Cemetery located at Ned.
