He was the son of the late Cornelius Allen and the late Bessy Williams Allen. He was a lifelong resident of Perry County. By occupation, he retired from Home Lumber after working there for 29 years. He also worked for Blue Diamond Coal Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Edith Colwell and May Critten; and brother Cornelius Allen, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Bays Allen of Hazard and sister Jessie Brinson of Flat Rock, Mi.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August 24 at Engle-Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Hazard. Burial took place at the Riverside Cemetery in Hazard following the funeral service.
Engle-Walker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
