The Hazard Lady Bulldogs’ volleyball team went in search of their first win of the season this week as they hosted two games at home. Unfortunately, the Lady Bulldogs were unable to collect the elusive win, dropping games to Leslie County and Knott Central.

On Tuesday, Hazard hosted the Leslie County Lady Eagles, a team that has quickly claimed the top spot in the district. The Lady Bulldogs did not get out of the gate strong and fell behind early. They would not be able to recover, and fell by the final score of 25-15.

In game two, the Lady Bulldogs were able to keep pace throughout the game. However, they would not be able to turn the tide down the stretch, and the Lady Eagles claimed the 25-19 win, giving them the sweep.

On Thursday, the Knott County Central Lady Patriots came a calling. Hazard showed major improvement over the past couple of games, but could not pull off the win.

In the first game Hazard jumped out to an early lead, but could not hold on as Knott County rallied late in the game and took the 25-23 lead.

Knott County continued to hold the momentum in the second game, but could not keep a determined Lady Bulldog team at bay. Hazard rallied from eight points down to tie the game late, but failed to keep the rally going. Knott County was able to score the final five points, giving them the 25-20 win, and the sweep of the match.
