HAZARD The Perry County grand jury has indicted six Ohio men charged with raping or sodomizing a woman at a local motel in September.
Police said the incident happened at the Super 8 Motel on the Hal Rogers Parkway on September 24 when the men allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim while she was passed out. The men, Leslie George Ivory, Tajh Eugene Barton, Doyne Shane Glass, Terry James Bolin, James Wayne Devoe, and Carlos LaMar Robinson, were part of a crew contracted to move items out of the old library on High Street to its present location.
According to authorities, the alleged victim was also dropped off at the Hazard Hotel following the incident after having been bathed in an apparent attempt to remove evidence. She was later located after a hotel employee called police to report that a woman was passed out in a truck in the hotels parking lot.
Police said once she regained consciousness she began telling authorities what had happened.
The men were arrested the following day and have been lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail since. They were indicted by the grand jury on November 13 on the following charges:
Doyne Shane Glass, 34, of Miamisburg, was indicted on one count of first-degree rape.
James Wayne Devoe, 20, of Lewistown, was indicted on one count of first-degree rape.
