Elizabeth Lay Richie was born in Whitley County, Ky. on December 21, 1920 to Barry Lay and Birdie Spurlock Lay.

She passed this life at the Select Specialty Hospital in Lexington on December 1, making her stay here on earth 88 years, 11 months, and 10 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Richie; son Roger Earl Richie; brothers Roy Lay and Claude Lay, and sister Irene Castle.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Pam Noble and husband Wade; great grandson Justin Noble; daughters-in-law Mary Richie and Nellie Amburgey Wooten; brother Charlie Lay and wife Ruby; sisters Edna Begley, Pauline Stidham, and Lorene Holbrook and husband Ronald, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

We know that Elizabeth will be greatly missed here on earth, but we feel that our loss is Heaven’s gain.
