Arlas Napier, Sr., 89, of Nabb, In., passed away Thursday, January 21 at Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 8, 1920 in Bulan, the son of Chester and Gracie Grigsby Napier who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jean Napier in 1998, son Neil Napier, step-son Lane Wingham, brothers Estil and Roy Napier, sisters Laura Hurt, Maude Stevens, and Hazel Baker.

He was a retired salesman, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Charlestown VFW and American Legion.

Survivors include his daughter, Nadine Terry, of Mitchell, In.; son Arlas Napier, Jr. of Lakeland, Fl.; step daughters Sharrona Lynn Dimmett of Salisbury, NC, Glenda Joy Hamilton of Milton, Ky., and Tina Wingham of Madison, In.; brother Burnet Napier of Frankfort; sisters Ida Miracle and Wanda Morgan, both of Hazard; and several grandchildren, including Allan Napier of Mitchell, In.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 25 at the Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.
