The second game of the girls' 54th district tournament featured the Hazard Bulldogs and the Leslie County Lady Eagles. The Lady Bulldogs put up a valiant effort, and controlled the tempo for much of the game, however, Leslie County was able to pull off the late comeback to move on in the tournament.

Hazard opened the game with the first basket, and moved out to a short lead midway through the period. Leslie County countered with a rally of their own, and held the 14-13 lead when the horn sounded.

The Lady Bulldogs wasted no time recouping their lost lead in the second period, building another short lead in the process. Again, the final rally would belong to the Lady Eagles. The late run sent Leslie County to the locker room with the 32-27 advantage.

Hazard came out of the break determined to turn the tables on the momentum once again. This time they left no room for a counter by Leslie County. Going into the final period, the Lady Bulldogs sat atop a 44-39 lead.

Early in the fourth quarter, Hazard pushed their margin to seven points, and looked to be on their way to the upset. With a little more than five minutes remaining in the game, Leslie County turned on the turbos.

With 5:05 remaining in the game, the Lady Eagles took the lead (48-47) on a pair of free throws. By the time the clock wound down to 1:33, Leslie County had built a 15-point spread at 64-49.
