She graduated from Easter State College with a bachelor’s degree in teaching with honorary distinctions. She taught at Livingston Grade School, Dennis Wooton, Viper, Krypton, Chavies and Saul. She loved to spend time in her garden and to go fishing.
She was the daughter of the late Delanie Barger and the late Rebecca Bowling. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom White; brothers Raymond, John A., Buster and Fred Barger; sisters Beatrice Barger, Francis Barger, Nettie Barger Turner and Allison Couch.
She is survived by daughters Elaine McIntyre and Rebecca Sue White; sisters Cleo Gilbert and Imojean Daniel; brother Floyd Barger; special friends Oma Clark and Gretchen Deaton along with five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family received friends on Monday, April 19. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 20. Interment was at White Family Cemetery located at Slemp.
