Early last week, the Hazard Bulldogs hosted the Clay County Tigers. The marathon event saw the Bulldogs drop the game to the Tigers by the final count of 16-11. Both teams opened the game with an offensive flurry. The Bulldogs, however, came up on the short end of the rallies, and trailed 7-4 after one inning of play. The Bulldogs did not get back on the board until the fourth inning when they plated a single run. By that time, Hazard already trailed 13-4. The fifth inning proved to be yet another offensive bonanza for both teams, and when the smoke cleared, Clay County was still on top 16-9. Hazards last rally netted them a pair of runs, but it would not be enough to give them the comeback. The Tigers went on to win the contest by the final count of 16-11.
