Early last week, the Hazard Bulldogs hosted the Clay County Tigers. The marathon event saw the Bulldogs drop the game to the Tigers by the final count of 16-11.

Both teams opened the game with an offensive flurry. The Bulldogs, however, came up on the short end of the rallies, and trailed 7-4 after one inning of play.

The Bulldogs did not get back on the board until the fourth inning when they plated a single run. By that time, Hazard already trailed 13-4. The fifth inning proved to be yet another offensive bonanza for both teams, and when the smoke cleared, Clay County was still on top 16-9.

Hazard’s last rally netted them a pair of runs, but it would not be enough to give them the comeback. The Tigers went on to win the contest by the final count of 16-11.

Hazard stats

Taylor Pulliam 3 hits and 3 runs, Austin Johnson 2 hits and 2 runs, Joey Meehan 3 hits, Corey Slone 2 hits (HR), 1 run and 2 RBI, Jordan Olinger 1 hit and 1 run, Andrew Abbott 2 runs, Austin Cumbow 1 hit, Austin Nidiffer 1 hit and 1 run, and Dylan Logan 1 hit and 1 run.
