HAZARD – The Daniel Boone Restaurant and Gabby’s Lounge caught fire and was burned this past weekend on Saturday, May 1.

The Hazard Fire Department received a call at approximately 6 a.m. and worked to end the fire until approximately 10:30 a.m., said Fire Chief Sam Stacy.

Stacy said firefighters were unable to stop the blaze before the building was “completely” damaged.

“It is no longer,” Stacy said of the building.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and Stacy said that is still under investigation.
