Bessie Fields Caudill, born December 1, 1915, departed this life on Thursday, May 20 at the Hazard ARH. She was 94 years of age at the time of her passing.
She was the daughter of the late John and Janie Day Fields. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, avid gardener and quilter. She was a member of Ira Combs Memorial Baptist Church in Jeff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Caudill; sisters Chelsea, Clydia and Lucy; and brothers Matt and Lloyd.
She is survived by sons Forrester Caudill and Alphia of Middletown, Ohio, Corbett Caudill and wife Theda of Viper, Boyd Caudill and wife Judy Ann of Franklin, Ohio; daughter Janice Caudill and husband Richard of Viper and Martha Caudill of Viper; brother Sam Fields and wife Earnestine of Viper; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard on Saturday, May 22 with Sam Fields, Andrew Lewis and Forrester Caudill officiating. Burial was in the W.H. Caudill Cemetery located at Viper.
