Pedestrian struck by KSP cruiser dies

JACKSON – A Jackson man is dead after being struck by a Kentucky State Police cruiser.

State Trooper Michael Fogleman was traveling south on Highway 15 in Jackson when he struck a pedestrian, Kenneth R. Sizemore, 38, of Jackson.

Fogleman, police said, was traveling from the Morehead State Police Post to Hazard, where he had been on special detail with the state police’s marijuana eradication team.

Sizemore was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson where he was pronounced dead by Breathitt County Coroner, George Griffith.

The investigation is continuing by Detective Scott Sandlin of the Kentucky State Police, with assistance from the Kentucky State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
