Perry advances to soccer semis with win over Hazard

On Tuesday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores and the Hazard Lady Bulldogs went head-to-head in the opening round of the girls 32nd district soccer tournament. All the scoring came in the first half, with the Lady Commodores advancing with the 2-0 win.
After battling back and forth for much of the first half, the Lady Commodores finally broke the ice with a goal. Taylor Adkins put Perry Central on top 1-0 win a strong penalty kick to the left bottom post.
With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Rachel Combs picked up a loose ball in the box and beat the Hazard goalie on the corner for the 2-0 lead. The score held until the half.
Neither team would find the net in the second half, allowing the 2-0 score of the first half to serve as the final score. Perry Central advanced to finals with the win.
