Robert Joseph “R.J.” Jones, 76, died on Saturday, May 12 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born April 20, 1936 in Knott County, the son of late Chester Jones and the late Sophie Hooker Jones, and was also preceded in death by brothers Ezra Jones and Wilson Jones, and son-in-law Adrian Stacy.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie “Midge” Jones of Vicco; sons Robert Jones and wife Connie of Hazard and Dwayne Jones and wife Carolyn of Viper; daughter Brenda Stacy of Sassafras; sisters Rachel Jones of Hazard and Eulanda Collins of Hazard; grandchildren Josh and wife Heather, Jeremy and wife Samantha, Brooke, Brandon, Nick, and Jessica; great-grandchild Diesel Lee, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on East Main Street with Cecil Morgan officiating. The interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery located at Jeff, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m.
