James “Jim” Ratliff, 72, departed this life on Friday, July 13 at his home in Viper.
He was born July 17, 1939 in West Virginia, the son of the late Robert and Ethel Ratliff. He was an electrician by occupation and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Athylene Farler Ratliff of Viper; son Robbie Ratliff and husband Jimmy Lynn of Viper; daughters Tammy Ratliff Eversole and husband Jesse of Viper, and Pam Ratliff of Iowa; sister Penny Adkins Dove and husband Darin of Elkton, Virginia; grandchildren Katie and Cassidy Eversole, and Cortney Dexter and Kristen Creamer; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard with Calvin Williams officiating. The interment will follow in the Adams-Lewis Cemetery located at Viper.
