Randy Venis Napier, born October 12, 1956, departed this life on Friday, July 13 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.

He was born in Hyden, Kentucky, the son of the late Hamp Napier and the late Marie Sizemore Napier. He was a life-long resident of Leslie County, and a member of the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church where he served as board member, Sunday School superintendent, and former youth leader. Randy was a retired coal miner from Shamrock Coal Company, owner of B&B Mini-Mart, and enjoyed hunting, old cars, and was a loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hamp and Marie Napier; sister Rita Faye Eversole; and spiritual father Pearl Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Ruth Napier of Hyden; daughter Brandy Paige Howard and husband Sam of London; son - Joshua Brent Napier and wife Ashley of Hyden; brothers Robert Napier and wife Lizette of Hyden, Joe Napier and wife Sandy of Hyden, Roger Napier and wife Cindy of Kettering, Ohio, and Rick Napier and wife Debbie of Stinnett; sister Rosita Gaunt and husband Jeff of Trenton, Ohio; spiritual mother Thelma Lewis of Hyden; grandchildren Treyton Samuel Howard, Alexa Paige Howard and Jude Caleb Randy Napier; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 18 2 p.m. at the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church with Rev. Ted Couch, Andrew Farmer and Eric Richardson officiating. The interment will follow in the Laurel Fork Cemetery located at Hyden. The visitation will be at the church on Tuesday evening from 6 to 11 p.m. The following will serve as pallbearers: Shane Napier, Wayne Napier, Brannon Caldwell, Brian Napier, Roy Collett, Homer Collett, Jr., Travis Napier, Tanner Sasser and Brandon Baker.
