Jeff Baker, 57, died on Tuesday, July 17 at the hospice care center in Hazard.

He was born on October 22, 1954 in Perry County to the late William Grant Baker and Zelma Ludington Baker of Virginia. Other than his father, he was also preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Baker, Norma Jean Burke and Ernestine Beldon, and brothers William J. Baker, Jack Baker and John Edgar Baker.

He is survived by his wife, Bethel Baker of Busy; mother Zelma Baker of Virginia; sons Darrell Baker and wife Crystal of Hazard, Jeffery Grant Baker of Busy, and David Wayne Baker of Busy; daughters Melissa Carol Wooten and husband Paul of Willard, Tammy Lynn Godsey and husband Wesley of Lost Creek, and Laura Ellen Fugate and husband James of Lost Creek; brothers Tommy W. Baker and wife Addie of Busy, Marvin Baker and wife Barbara of Georgetown Ky., Larry Baker and wife Melissa of Virginia, and Clayton Baker and wife Evelyn of Virginia; sisters Maude Ellen Morris and husband Beecher of Virginia, Laura Mangoba and husband Bobby of Virginia, and Betsy Schoonover and husband Allan of Maryland, along with five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 20 at the Yerkes Baptist Church with Paul Couch officiating. The Baker Cemetery located at Busy is the place of burial. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the Engle- Bowling Funeral home on East Main Street in Hazard, where the family will receive friends for visitation between the hours of 6 till 9 p.m.

I miss you so much uncle jeff and I love you with all my heart... the only thing that gives me peace is your not suffering anymore... I will see you 1 day in heaven..
