Cora B. Collins, 92, passed away on Friday, July 20 at the hospice care center in Hazard.

She was born February 15, 1920 in Leslie County, the daughter of the late Green Baker and the late Susan Young Baker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Collins, five brothers, two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Cora was a life-long resident of Perry County and enjoyed sewing, working in flowers and was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by her sons, Eugen Collins of Napfor, Alfred “Cookie” Collins, Jr. and wife Fern of Viper, and Donald Collins of Dry Ridge, Ky.; daughters Betty J. Owens of Napfor, Shelby J. Williams and husband Ed of Busy, Wilma J. Collins of Napfor, Billie J. Martin of Napfor, and Thelma J. Dean of Busy; brother Earl Baker and wife Sophie of Miamisburg, Ohio, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 23 at 11 a.m. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard with Rev. Eddie Williams and Curt Eversole officiating. The interment will follow in the Collins-Baker Cemetery located at Meadow Branch. The visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
