Emma Campbell, 89, passed away on Sunday, July 22 at the Hazard ARH medical center.

She was born on May 13, 1923 in Leslie County, the daughter of the late Henry Asher and the late Ida Bailey Asher. She was a retired cook, having worked for the Perry County School Board.

She was a life-long resident of Perry County, and had been affiliated with the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking and watching the Cincinnati Reds play baseball.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don Campbell; brothers Roy, Carl Eugene and Charles; sisters Edna, Mary, Geneva and infants.

She is survived by her son, Don Barton Campbell of Lexington; daughters Carol Couch of Hazard, Ann Williams and husband Ralph of Georgetown, and Missy Longworth and husband Greg of Hazard; brother Robert Asher and wife Ruth of Wooton; sister Rebecca Melton of Wooton; grandchildren Shaine Baker, Landon Longworth, Sabrina Longworth, Sheila Flynn and Ricky, Regina Watts, Curtis Williams, Taylor Campbell, Tyler Campbell and Shaun Baker, along with a host of grandchildren and other treasured relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, July 25 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Clarence Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Campbell Family Cemetery in Hazard. The following served as pallbearers: Ricky Flynn, Greg Longworth, Shaine Baker, Charlie Baker, Tyler Campbell, Ricky Flynn, Jr. and Bart Campbell.
